<p> Grade 6 End-of-Year Preview As the end of the school year approaches, we are preparing for activities and events for our Grade 6 students. Here is a preview of what is to come and some dates to mark down in your Calendar. More information, permission forms and invitations will be sent out shortly.</p><p>Important Dates & Notes May 18 A.C.E.S. Junior Track & Field Day (Rain Date: May 23) May 19 PA Day - No school May 22 Victoria Day - No school May 24, 25, 26 EQAO June 5 Regional Track & Field Day June 6 Grade 6 Photo June 8 Gr. 6 End-of-Year Trip (Carleton University Sports Camp) June 9 PA day, Report Card development - No school June 15 A.C.E.S. BBQ (5:30) June 22 - Junior Jump Rope for Heart (8:30 - 10:30) - A.C.E.S. IDOL Whole School Performance, Students Only (11:30 - 1:15) - A.C.E.S. IDOL Evening performance, Parents Welcome (6:00) June 27 Reports Cards sent home June 28 Gr. 6 Leaving Ceremony The Leaving Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 28th. The day will unfold as follows: 8:30 - 9:00 Homeroom activities 9:00 - 11:00 Rehearsal (students required to attend) 11:00 - 12:30 Extended lunch *Students may be signed out to go home and get changed and/or have a special lunch with their family. *Students may also remain at school (recess, lunch, get changed) 12:30 Students lineup in Class 12:30 - 1:00 Doors Open - Guests seated in Gym *The number of Guests per student will be confirmed shortly. In past years, each student was allowed 2-3 guests. Seats for extra guests could be requested in the school office.</p><p>1:00 - 2:30 Leaving Ceremony 2:30 - 3:00 Students may leave with parents or take the bus, as per usual 6:00 - 8:00 Grade 6 Party, *Organized by the A.C.E.S. Parent Council Some students will be very excited about this event, and will soon start to discuss what they will be wearing. While it is an important event in their school life, there is no expectation that students should go shopping or wear something "formal". It will be very warm in the gym that day due to the number of people in attendance. I would suggest that your child wear something that won't be too warm, that makes them feel good, and that is clean :-) More details will be forwarded to you as they become available.
