<p>06a0ab0c400d5b710e5f83e05f428797.doc</p><p>Clanna Ruid Rudie No. 58 Knight Masons</p><p>Minutes</p><p>Meeting of September 28, 2014</p><p>The members of Clanna Ruid Ruide Council No. 58 Knight Masons met as scheduled at 2:00 PM in the Siminoff Lodge room at the Masonic Home in Union City. </p><p>The Council was then called to order by Excellent Chief (EC) Bill Ellison at 2:00 PM with the Officer Positions indicated below.</p><p>Members that did not attend are listed below (where regrets received are indicated).</p><p>Our EC called for the reading of any unread past minutes, which would be only from our last meeting on July 20, 2014. Cousin ??? moved that the reading of the minutes be accepted as they have been posted on our website. This was seconded and passed unanimously.</p><p>Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer reported that we in our checking account as of $1,326.38. He also noted that the cost for each new candidate (for the apron, sash, jewel, and pamphlets) was greater than the candidate’s present membership fee.</p><p>The dates of our future meetings were then reviewed</p><p>September 28 – 2:00 PM – Formal Opening and Knight of the Sword Degree Team Practice November 16 – 2:00 PM – Formal Opening and Knight of the Sword Degree on several candidates. January 25, 2015 March 29, 2015 May 31, 2015 August 30, 2015 January 31, 2016</p><p>A degree team was then asked to be created for the September 28 and November 16 meetings. The cast thus far is listed below. It was decided that any cast member must be present on both dates.</p><p>We hope that all ritual will be memorized and that no ritual books will be used at the degree.</p><p>Cousin Edgar also stated if checks were received as reservations by a week in advance, that attendees could come to lunch at the Masonic Home before the meeting. As lunch is </p><p>1/4 06a0ab0c400d5b710e5f83e05f428797.doc at noon on Sundays, our meetings could then begin at 2:00 PM instead of 3:00 PM. This would also give us more time for our meetings, degrees, discussion, and our ever popular debates.</p><p>Cousin Kevin asked about what was the difference between the expenses we pay for a new candidate and that candidate’s initiation fee. The Sec. said that he will find out and email that to the members. Kevin also pointed out that we could have special jackets for our degrees if the members agreed. He will find out additional details about that idea.</p><p>The Sec. had contacted Los Angeles Fraternal Supply at http://www.lafsco.net/, specifically at http://www.lafsco.net/york-rite-amd-knight-mason-c-36_78.html, and reported that the costs without mailing charges are: Aprons $71.00 Sashes $49.50</p><p>He also had contacted the Grand Council of Knight Masons at http://www.knightmasons.org/, where he found their order form, stating: Ritual book $10.00 Member’s Jewel $8.00 History Book $5.00 Pin $1.00</p><p>This then brings the total cost per new candidate to $144.50 plus all mailing charges, in comparison to his current $130.00 initiation fee.</p><p>It is also not clear whether or not the initiation fee should include the dues for the year, which has been the case if the initiation degree is held after June 30.</p><p>The Sec. contacted Cousin Kevin on Sept. 25 about these costs, and Kevin suggested that the initiation fee be raised to $175.00.</p><p>Our EC then asked for more comments, and finding none, he announced that he had provided food and drinks in the meeting area outside of the Lodge for all members.</p><p>The meeting was then adjourned at 4:15 PM.</p><p>Respectfully Submitted,</p><p>/s/</p><p>Patrick G.
