<p> 2014 ACT Training Excellence Awards Call for nominations</p><p>Norm Fisher Award</p><p>Mr Norm Fisher AM retired in 1996 after 10 years as the Chief Executive and Director of the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). Mr Fisher led the development of CIT from 1987, and through his efforts, the Institute is now the largest of four public tertiary education institutions in the national capital. CIT now has a national and international reputation for innovative educational courses covering a range of disciplines and industries. </p><p>Mr Fisher was an adviser on training to the Australian Public Service and a member of the Canberra Clinical School Board of Studies. </p><p>He was a leader in the development of statistical management of the Australian vocational education and training system and was awarded the Australian Medal for services to the Australian Public Service in 1986.</p><p>The Norm Fisher Award will be presented for an outstanding and extensive contribution as an individual to vocational education and training in the ACT.</p><p>Nominations close on Friday 25 July 2014. For further information, contact the Training Awards coordinator on 02 6205 7037.</p><p>1 2014 ACT Training Excellence Awards Norm Fisher Award</p><p>How to nominate</p><p> No self nominations will be accepted.  Nominations must address the selection criteria.  Nominations must be no longer than 5 A4 pages in total (excluding nomination cover sheet).  Three copies of the complete nomination pack must be submitted.  The nomination form must be signed by both the nominator and the nominee.  Nominations must be received by close of business 25 July 2014.</p><p>Selection Criteria The Norm Fisher Award will be presented for an outstanding and extensive contribution as an individual to vocational education and training in the ACT. Criteria 1: Dedicated service to vocational education and training in the ACT. Criteria 2: Work to improve the quality and responsiveness of vocational education and training in the ACT.
