(CSC) is the only provider of Head Start services in the Lehigh Valley. Early and Pre-School Head Start services are provided to children and families from pre-natal to age five. Home based and classroom based (full and part day) early education experiences are coupled with health, family services and parental involvement for over 1,000 families each year. Head-Start Prenatal-to-Five assists families in ensuring children are ready for success in school and life. Family services include child development, parenting, decision-making and supportive personal development. Families define areas for developmental; staff assists with referrals for services not directly provided. CSC provides a variety of services and programs to children, families, child care professionals, employers and educators. The Donley Children’s Campus, located on the grounds of the Allentown State Hospital, is the home of CSC. The agency’s staff and the Lehigh County Subsidy program are located in the Levin Administration Building. The Fowler Building houses two Head Start classrooms and two Early Head Start classrooms, the Early Head Start Family Place, and community meeting rooms, as well as The Family Library. It also includes The Wellness Center, which offers wellness education, dental and medical screening rooms and EHS-Safe Start, a collaboration with Lehigh and Northampton Counties providing therapeutic developmental care for drub impacted infants and toddlers, ages 0-3 years. The Fowler Building is also the home of The Training Institute, which offers educational programs on early childhood topics to professionals, educators, parents and students from across the Lehigh Valley.
