<p>Media Officer / Journalist</p><p> Permanent role  Great for journalism or communications graduate with some experience  Responsible for assisting with the planning and delivery of media and communication activities within the Media and Government team</p><p>About the role The position reports to the Principal Manager – Media and Government Relations and is responsible for the planning and delivering of media and communication activities to support the delivery of WestConnex. The Media Officer is responsible for developing communications materials and responses to media enquiries, planning media events and proactive media opportunities on a day-to-day basis. </p><p>The successful applicant will need to understand project activities, milestones, challenges and risks while actively staying informed of government and stakeholder policies, priorities and events. They will demonstrate skills in prioritising work in a fast-paced and changing environment, team work and collaboration.</p><p>This role will suit candidates with similar experience ideally within Transport Infrastructure, Civil Engineering or State Government. </p><p>Key responsibilities of the role include:  Dealing with relevant media about news related to the project;  Building trusting and respectful internal and external stakeholder relationships to effectively manage issues; and  Developing media and communication materials including media releases, responses to enquiries and other materials as required.</p><p>The organisation Sydney Motorway Corporation is a dynamic, collaborative and growing organisation managing the delivery of the WestConnex motorway. WestConnex is the largest transport infrastructure project in Australia.
