<p>Job Title: Development and Engagement Manager Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer</p><p>Position Summary: This position functions as the subject matter expert of staff and leadership development strategies at HCPA, is responsible for the coordination of staff training and leads in the design and implementation of an annual professional development series and other development initiatives. Assesses organization developmental needs to drive training initiatives. Identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. Actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. </p><p>Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing and facilitating the newly- developed model of care and service initiative designed to support and enhance the overall patient experience. This highly collaborative role will successfully partner with departments across the organization to identify areas of improvement in day-to-day operations to ultimately lead to greater patient satisfaction in all areas of the organization. </p><p>In this capacity, the position will work closely with clinical and administrative leadership to identify experience priorities and goals and partner to deliver improvements to clinical and operational processes based on current service standards and initiatives of the organization, maintaining a commitment to HCPA’s mission, vision and values. </p><p>Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, healthcare administration, nursing, business or related field Three to five years of general human resources, training and/or development experience. Equivalent experience can be substituted for education. Outstanding verbal, written, multitasking and presentation skills. Excellent leadership skills: planning, effective communication, motivation, mentoring and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience: o Analyzing data trends and recommending plans of action o Developing and implementing training programs for staff o Public speaking Demonstrated success: o Coordinating events, including scheduling facilitators, technology, venues and refreshments o Employing exceptional customer service and communication (written and verbal) skills and exhibiting a professional demeanor o Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a diverse population, including employees at all organizational levels o Leading projects from start to finish Proven ability: o Creating momentum and fostering organizational change. o Taking initiative and working independently to determine strategies for accomplishing work objectives o Leading by example and fostering mentor relationships o Continuously assessing program and process effectiveness, with a focus on continuous quality improvement</p><p>Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in a related field Multiple years of experience: o Designing supervisory and leadership training curriculum o Facilitating training o Creating employee evaluations via Survey Monkey and other similar web resources Five (5) years related management/leadership experience in healthcare and managing comprehensive projects that impact patient and organizational outcomes. In-depth knowledge of health care systems, analysis and evaluation techniques, statistical process control techniques (Patient Experience knowledge preferred) Supervisory experience Understanding of Business Intelligence and Dashboard Development Demonstrated skill in human relations, communication and change theory applications PHR, CPLP or other applicable certification</p><p>On-boarding – 10% In collaboration with the Recruiting Manager, coordinate new hire orientation sessions to be offered on a biweekly basis. o Assess the effectiveness of each session through effective employee feedback strategies, such as Survey Monkey and other quantifiable methods.</p><p>Staff & Management Development – 40% Coordinate all training functions, personnel, schedules and departments at HCPA to ensure appropriate and effective training for all staff: o New hires o Follow up training as needed o Annual training series via HealthStream Design and manage an professional development initiatives for the organization: o Designing curriculum in collaboration with HR director for supervisory and leadership training. o Using participant feedback to develop a minimum of two annual professional development tracks. o Coordination of facilitators, venues and refreshments (as appropriate) for all sessions. o Coordinating Community Discussion sessions that are relevant and inform staff of important initiatives and happenings in the greater Hutchinson community. o Collaboration with the Marketing Department to design effective communication strategies for upcoming sessions. o Tracking and reporting of attendance in HealthStream. Assessing the effectiveness of each session through effective employee feedback strategies. o Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results; modify programs as needed; develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media. Develop trainer development programs and coach others involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities. Develop and maintain communications for company intranet to ensure employees have knowledge of events and general information. Lead and actively engage members of the Training Strategy Committee, developing an action plan annually that compliments the overall strategies of the department and organization. Develop and monitor spending against the departmental budget. Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization. Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the human resources staff.- Collaborate with department leaders to create, using relevant, industry- approved resources, and individualized professional development materials. Manage the Development Resource Library, including: o Maintaining an inventory of all resources. o Identifying additional resources needed through ongoing research of business and industry trends and soliciting ideas from staff and leaders. o Ensuring resources are relevant and in line with the organization mission and values.</p><p>Patient & Staff Engagement – 40% Responsible to drive and foster a culture of patient-centered care and excellence, while improving patient and family experience and patient relations across the organization. Provides strategic direction and leadership and works in partnership with all departments across the organization to assess needs and communicate performance expectations about the patient experience. Accountable to support and manage organizational needs, as well as the design, implementation and evaluation of patient experience programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of all staff and providers. Translates the concepts of service excellence, patient experience and patient relations into actionable behaviors. Staffs the Service Standards Committee Assists with patient complaints, concerns and contacts as needed; routes to the appropriate director/administrator for resolution; and tracks outcomes to ensure conclusion and follow through. Manages the patient survey data collection system, analyzes data and makes recommendations for process/encounter improvements, in collaboration with the Service Standards Committee, based on data from all collected sources to increase overall patient satisfaction. Reports all data findings and appropriate recommendations in a timely manner to stakeholder groups. Develop and monitor the organizational strategy to appropriately show recognition & appreciation of staff to encourage a culture of engagement and retention of high performers. </p><p>Department Leadership – 5% Engage and lead in special projects as requested by the HR Director, ensuring timely, thorough and accurate analysis and solution-focused recommendations for process improvement.</p><p>Additional Responsibilities – 5% Actively participate in HCPA events and functions as a representative of the HR department. Other duties as requested.</p><p>Length of Appointment: This is a full time, exempt position.
