<p> Unit 1 Task 2 – Pen Picture of Yourself</p><p>My dilemma: it is time for Year 7 IT to show what you’re capable of doing with Microsoft Word. I am faced with a sea of eager smiling faces. I wonder about each individual but how will I get to know who each individual is? How will I know who is the brilliant reader, the fantastic footballer, the musician, the keen artist, the person who is kind to others, the person with the blonde hair…………….how will I even remember each student’s names? Help me to get to know you. </p><p>Create a dossier of yourself for me, which includes:  A Pen Picture of yourself  A letter of Introduction  A biography of yourself  A History Line  Important People</p><p>1. Using Word Art, create a Heading with your name in the heading.</p><p>2. Using the table button on the standard toolbar, create a table, which is 2 x 2.</p><p>3. Save the document in the folder you created called ME.</p><p> Select File in the toolbar.  Select Save As.  Select the folder to save it in……this is the folder you have created called ME.  Type in a file name at the bottom…. Pen Picture.</p><p>4. In the Top Left hand corner, type in your personal details using a variety of sizes of fonts.</p><p>5. In the Top Right hand corner, import your photo (you may have to resize the photo to fit into the box).</p><p>6. In the Bottom Left hand corner, type in a bulleted list of three things you like.</p><p>7. In the Bottom Right hand corner, type in a bulleted list of three things you dislike.</p><p>8. Print Preview your work. 9. Add a footer:</p><p> Select View from the toolbar.  Select Header and Footer.  Switch from header to footer.  On the left hand side, place your name.  Press the tab button once and insert the date from the menu.  Press the tab button again and type in the file saving name (pen picture.doc).</p><p>10. Save the document again by clicking on the disk in the standard toolbar.</p><p>Extension Activity: You can add to your Pen Picture by typing more details about yourself either in the boxes you already have, or create another row, so now you have a table which is 2 x 3.
