Nusoy Candle WICK GUIDE

Nusoy Candle WICK GUIDE

NuSoy Candle WICK GUIDE

The most important element of candle making is proper wicking. Wicking is based on the size and/or shape of a container. Container size is determined by measuring the inside dimensions of the container at its widest point (ie- cube container would measure corner to corner). The following chart provides only a guide for wicking. Before selling, it is recommended to test all wicks to ensure a proper and consistent burn.

Select the corresponding wick for the container…

1 inch container will use a Nussentials #1 wick

2 inch container ~ Nussentials #2 wick (if the container measures over 2 or 2.5 inches, then you need to go up to a Nussentials #3 wick) ~ Same with all scenarios!

3 inch container ~ Nussentials #3 wick

4 inch container ~ Nussentials #4 wick (If it is a cube container it is recommended to double wick the container with 2 Nussentials #3 wicks for a more consistent burn. If the container is round, it’s recommended to use 2 Nussentials #2 wicks.)

5 inch container ~ Use 2 Nussentials #3 wicks

6 or 7 inch container ~ Triple wick the container using 3 Nussentials #3 wicks

Tea Light Wicks come with the tea light containers. Extra’s can also be ordered when purchasing the Wick Kit.

When using square or triangle containers, it’s recommended to go up in wick size so the wax will liquefy from corner to corner. Larger square jars should be triple wicked for best performance. With all containers, test them in order to be satisfied with the burn. Variables create different burns, such as how much color, and fragrance have been added.

NOTE: Please use the above recommendations regarding wicks sizes and their application only as a general guide or starting point. We cannot guarantee these recommendations because there are too many variables involved. Your results may vary greatly depending on dye, fragrance, container shape & size, burning conditions, etc. Experimentation and test burning is highly recommended and is the only way to accurately determine the appropriate wick size for your candles.
