<p>[Type text]</p><p>Microsoft Word 2007-10: FAQ’s for Formatting</p><p>Follow these simple directions to format your MS Word document properly to avoid losing points. </p><p>1. How to double space a. Right click on the mouse and locate “Paragraph” on the drop down menu. </p><p> b. Click on “Paragraph.</p><p> i. Make sure that the drop down menu for line spacing is located on double. Also, make sure that under the Spacing section, that the Before and After points are moved to 0.</p><p> ii. Click Default to save this permanently, or click OK to use for this document. </p><p>2. How to set up margins a. Locate the top ribbon and click on Page Layout</p><p> b. Click on Margins. Click on Footer</p><p>3. When the footer is activated, Click on the first choice, and then Page Number in the upper left hand corner of the page, click on bottom of the page and then either of the three choices are suffice</p><p>[Type text] [Type text]</p><p>For Title Page</p><p>In a separate Word Document, click on the Page Layout tab on the top ribbon</p><p>At the bottom of the ribbon, click on the expansion button at the bottom of the tab.</p><p>When the pop up box appears, click “Center” on the drop down menu for Page Vertical Alignment. </p><p>Click OK </p><p>When you finish, center the line at the top of the home tab on the ribbon</p><p>Type in Title (Underlined), Name, Date, Class. </p><p>Print this document. This will serve as the proper heading. Start typing after you indent the first line of the first page of your document. </p><p>The Works Cited page should be a separate page that is titled Works Cited, horizontally aligned. Your only source will be the book 1776 and it should be in MLA format. This is what must be cited from the book:  All Statistics  All Analysis that is not your own original and independent thought  All facts that are not common knowledge  Any quoted material from primary or secondary sources – if it is a primary source – a quote from someone in 1776- reference the notes at the end of the book and 1776- see MLA guidelines</p><p>All class notes, maps, or discussions are considered common knowledge and therefore do not need to be cited. </p><p>If you used the video sheet from the War in the South, use this citation</p><p>Schnall, Peter, dir.
