<p> IMPORTANT NOTICE</p><p>TO: All UPHP Providers</p><p>DATE: May 1, 2009</p><p>RE: HIN1 Influenza A </p><p>Due to CDC and ADHS concerns regarding HIN1 Influenza A (also referred to as Swine Flu), University Physicians Health Plan’s will immediately implement the following:</p><p>1. Physician offices may conduct rapid influenza diagnostic testing on members presenting with flu symptoms. UPHP will reimburse for these test without prior authorization.</p><p>2. UPHP will immediately remove any prior authorization requirements for Tamiflu and Relenza for the next 30 days, but may apply quantity limits for the standard length of therapy. AHCCCS recommends prioritizing the antiviral treatment for the severely ill. </p><p>To minimize the potential to spread of the virus, Provider Relations Representatives will not be visiting multiple provider offices or health care facilities and will be working in the office. However, we are available to you via telephone, email or fax.
