<p> FRIDAY NEWSLETTER</p><p>Hello Families! </p><p>Another packed week in PreK. This week, we covered Investigation 1: What are the characteristics of the trees in our community? And began Investigation 2: Who lives in Trees? </p><p>Reads included Our Tree Named Steve, The Grouchy Ladybug, Trees Count, and Who Lives in Trees?</p><p>We learned about the characteristics of deciduous trees and evergreen trees in depth this week. First, we began creating a chart about the characteristics of deciduous and evergreen trees. As the children shared their responses, we noticed they shared commonalities: All trees have roots, a trunk, and a crown, all trees need water, soil, and sunlight to grow. We took our chart a step further and created Venn diagram. Ask your child about deciduous and evergreen trees!</p><p>On Thursday, we began Investigation 2: Who Lives in trees? During discussion and shared writing, the children recalled the creatures in the book Who Lives in Trees? and created a chart. We’ll refer back to this chart as we think about what might live in our trees. Preschool Family Potluck Friday, November 18th at 5:30-7:00pm We are excited to invite you to our Preschool Potluck!</p><p>Families will bring appetizers, entrees and desserts to share with everyone! </p><p>You will be able to meet other preschool parents, your child’s classmates, and talk to the teachers and Mr. Hogan! There will also be a special read-aloud for all of the families with a special book for everyone to take home!
