<p> JOB DESCRIPTION: ENFYS GRADUATE ECOLOGIST</p><p>Salary: £18,000</p><p>Location: North Wales remit with office base near Mold, Flintshire.</p><p>Responsible to: Enfys Ecology Manager</p><p>1. BACKGROUND</p><p>Enfys Ecology is the consultancy arm of the North Wales Wildlife Trust, and a young and growing company providing ecological advice to a wide range of customers. Enfys ecology currently employs two staff members and is looking to expand further through the appointment of a Graduate Ecologist. </p><p>2. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POST</p><p>We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate to support our staff team, who is willing to learn and assist in helping our small company grow, and in turn support the wildlife conservation work of the North Wales Wildlife Trust. The Graduate Ecologist will carry out administration within the company, responding to client enquiries, as well as practical ecology work and report writing. </p><p>3. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>. Deliver project management aspects of Enfys contracted work, including customer liaison, resource management and report production . Maintain and operate efficient office procedures, including contract management database . Undertake contracted ecological work and report drafting . Service governance meetings with summary reports and other business requirements . To assist Enfys in following H&S Procedures, implementing them as appropriate 4. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS</p><p>Criteria Essential Desirable The post-holder should have: The post-holder should have: Qualifications  BSc or MSc Degree in an ecological/environmental subject or equivalent experience Knowledge, Skills  Be computer literate – proficient in  The ability to communicate in and Abilities Word/Excel/Outlook Welsh  Practical ecological survey  Experience of producing risk experience e.g. bird and plant ID, assessments and safe working great crested newts and bats procedures  Have excellent communication  An understanding of wildlife skills, both written and oral, able to legislation and planning policy write, edit and produce clear and concise reports, using accessible language  Full driving licence and access to own transport  Willingness to work unsociable hours General  Be able to maintain high levels of enthusiasm and self-motivation.  Have knowledge of the Wildlife Trust movement  Have the ability to work on their own initiative and co-operate as part of a team.  Have a strong affinity for wildlife and habitats and show commitment to wildlife issues.  Be approachable, friendly and show tact and diplomacy when dealing with clients  Have a mature and flexible approach to work.</p><p>5. SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE</p><p>Duration: Permanent (subject to probationary period). We are willing to consider full or part-time working. This post requires anti-social and some weekend working and potentially long travel times. We operate a TOIL system. </p><p>Salary: £18,000 with opportunity for bonus payments</p><p>Annual Leave: 24 days plus bank holidays pro rata.</p><p>Sick leave: In accordance with the Department of Health’s Statutory Sick Pay Scheme.</p><p>Pension: Contribution of 6% towards stakeholder pension scheme. Probation: New entrants to the service shall be subject to a probationary period of 6 months. </p><p>Notice: Period of notice to terminate employment is one month’s notice from the employee, and 1 week to 12 weeks (depending on time in service) from the employer.</p>
