TeleFlash Installation:

TeleFlash is a feature which allows anyone in your organization to publish research notes and data that can be accessed in the Telemet Orion platform.

Information concerning the installation of TeleFlash can be downloaded from our website at http://www.taquote.com/public/download/documents/teleflashinstallation.pdf

The “TeleFlash DB” and “TeleFlash Editor” should be installed by the Administrator before Telemet Orion is installed if the Telemet Orion users will be using TeleFlash.

Once the TeleFlash database and editor have been installed the editor will be available for all users. The administrator will need to log onto the TeleFlash editor to setup users in the TeleFlash database. Please review the TeleFlash Installation Documentation for details. http://www.taquote.com/public/download/documents/teleflashinstallation.pdf

Installing Telemet Orion on Terminal Servers and Citrix Servers

Installation with package by dialogs procedure:

The Telemet Orion installation for Terminal Servers is a two part installation identical to Network installations. This is necessary for all Telemet functionality to be available for the individual users, including the MarketLink and TelemetIQ links for Microsoft Excel.

Step 1- First you need to download and save the installation package telemet_orion82term.exe. The Terminal Server administrator must then run telemet_orion82term.exe installation, choosing the ‘Shared Files’ Setup Type for the installation.

1 This installation will install the portion of the application in a common shared location on the terminal server you provide. The location where you install the shared files must be accessible by all Telemet users. All the necessary exe’s and dll’s for Telemet Orion will be accessed in this location by each user who will need read rights to this folder.

2 Step 2- Once the ‘Shared files’ installation is complete, the same installation package must be run by the Administrator to install users files for Telemet Orion in locations assigned for according Citrix/Terminal sever users. Repeat this step for every Telemet Orion user.

During the installation you will be asked for the path to the Telemet Shared files where you installed the exe’s and dll’s in the shared location. You will then be asked for the path where you want to install Telemet, and this will need to be a unique path for each Telemet user. We recommend that you install the MarketLink and TelemetIQ when prompted.

3 If in the Install Default Settings screen the “Configure TeleFlash Research Note and Corporate Data Reader. Select this if your company uses TeleFlash to distribute internally produced research notes and data.” check box is checked, the TeleFlash Logon dialog will appear at the end of “Client” installation.

The ‘Client’ installation makes a registry entry in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry for both keys; Software\Telemet\Orion\User Path and ExePath. The ‘Client’ installation will also publish a shortcut to the users Personal desktop for Telemet Orion. When the user first executes the shortcut they will be required to enter a Login ID and Password, and will then be able to connect to the Telemet servers.

Once the client portion of the installation is complete the users need only have read and write permission to the client folders, which is necessary for the user to edit or customized their Telemet configuration and data. Power User rights are no longer required for the individual users to run Telemet Orion.

4 Automatic installation of Telemet Orion on a terminal server for multiple users

You may install Telemet Orion for multiple users using an ini controlled installation. You will need to download the TerminalAutoInstall.exe tool.

The “TerminalAutoInstall.exe” tool was created to allow the installation of 1 or more Telemet Orion workstations without user intervention and controlled by ini-file.

1. This tool may be run with two parameters: /Full_Qualified_Path_To_Install_Package / Full_Qualified_Path_To_Ini_File. 2. If tool is running without parameters, the Install_Package and Ini_File locations are setting by “open file” dialogs. 3. Below is an example of Ini_File content: 4. Note: for .ini values 1=yes, blank or 0 = no

[SetupType] Server=1 Clients=1

[Server] ServerPath=C:\OrionServer

[DefaultSettings] CentralLists= CentralListsPath= InstallLists=1 InstallWsps=1 InstallMarketLink=1

[Clients] Client1Path=C:\Documents and Settings\Client1\Telemet Client2Path=C:\Documents and Settings\Client2\Telemet Client3Path=C:\Documents and Settings\Client3\Telemet Client4Path=C:\Documents and Settings\Client4\Telemet Client5Path=C:\Documents and Settings\Client5\Telemet

5 Configuration of the TeleFlash with Telemet Orion installation (Terminal/Citrix version)

The “TeleFlash DB” and “TeleFlash Editor” have to be installed before the Telemet Orion so that the installation detects the TeleFlash DB and Editor locations from the registry, verifies files existence and configures the [TeleFlash] section of the Telemet Orion setup.ini file in the client installation dialog selections (if Telemet Orion is installing for each client separately without using auxiliary tool).

If the installation is controlled by ini-file using the TerminalAutoInstall.exe the [TeleFlash] section of the setup.ini files for the clients are created and configured if the ‘TeleFlash DB” (Research.mdb) location is detected and confirmed.

If editor location is detected and confirmed, the editor part of the [TeleFlash] section is configuring depending upon the [TeleFlashLogon] section of installation .ini file.

The [TeleFlashLogon] section of ini-file should contain a set of keys like these: Client1Logon={User name}{Password} Client2Logon={User name}{Password} . . . ClientNLogon={User name}{Password}

If {User name} is not empty, the “Editor” key value will fill in the editor location. Also the “UserName” and “Password” keys are set.

Note – the User Name and Password should match those assigned by Administrator of the “TeleFlash DB” for according client.

6
