Results in next issue but better to see for yourselves. See you there.

President’s Day

August was a much quieter month on the social front. However, President’s Day , hosted by Graham Heaven, was well supported and help raise money for his charities which are Headway and The National Coastwatch Institution.

The afternoon started with a “Spider” which was won by John Price. (right)

The main competition took the form of randomly selected mixed Triples who contested three sets of four ends. The winners of each set of four ends moved rinks while the losers stayed on the same rink. Scores for and against were recorded and the winners of the Wooding Trophy were those with the highest positive shot difference. Congratulations to Val Lethbridge, Bryan Lee and Peter Hutchins who were the winners of the trophy.

Hilary Thorpe’s guess was the closest to the actual number of heart shaped sweets so she won them all.

The booby prize winners were Ruth Adlard, Marilyn Symons and Chris Ellingford. Last Issue

The September edition will probably be issued during the first week of October as I am unavailable until the 5th October.

Derek
