<p> Norfolk Girls Softball Board Meeting - Minutes November 5, 2012</p><p>Attendees: Brendan Sullivan, Christie Lespasio, Danielle Sheeran, Dave Nix, Dawne Galetta, Eric Jussaume, Greg Curran, Linda Melanson, Paul McWhinnie, Steve Claypoole, Tom Griffin</p><p> Spring Registration o Norfolk Recreation will allow up to put a registration flyer in the winter booklet. We need to have it to them by Friday, Nov 9th. Danielle will draft the flyer and get it to them by Friday. o We would like to have registration ready to go online by November 13th. May needs to set it up on the website. o We will only be accepting credit cards this year – no checks. o Dave N. and Eric discussed new rates for spring. There will be an increase over last year. o Discussion on getting the word out for registration . Can we dump the friends directory for emails? . Can we request a backpack mail this year (Lions soccer did it) o Add a donate box on registration</p><p> Winter Ball o We are looking for a pitching coach . Need to find out who is out there . How much they cost . We want as many young people pitching as possible o Open Gym Nights . Tuesdays starting the last week of February – Steve will reserve the FK gym . 1 hour for young players/1 hour for older players o Saturday Winter Clinics . Middle School gym may be booked through March – Steve will check . Run four weeks before the start of the season . We need to discuss ages . Paul Norton is going to check on PAL clinics in Jan/Feb/Mar and find out if our girls can attend</p><p> Sponsorship o Need to develop a plan for sponsorship and how we get more funds into the organization – Fundraising/Sponsorship Committee . Dave N. will ask Carla Costa if she would be interested in heading this up . Dawne and Christie expressed interest in joining the committee . Committee would: Head up NCL requests, run fundraisers, etc… . Dawne will ask Jean K. if she has any ideas or would like to join the committee . Raffle idea was express by Paul M. Pay $20 at registration and then run a raffle once a week at snack shack o Dave L. is speaking with a tax attorney regarding 503c issues and how we can move forward most effectively with non profit status  Apparel o Paul N. will head up apparel o Greg C. will find out who hockey uses for their apparel vendor o Should have order forms at clinics and on website</p><p> Snack Shack o Rebecca Norton will run the shack this year o Thoughts of bringing back pizza night o Healthy options requested by Nutrition Task Force were not very successful in previous years</p><p> CORI Forms o Danielle and Linda will meet to discuss transition o NGS policy is you must have one done every year</p><p> Closing Day – Paul N. will run again this year </p><p> Umpires/Scheduling o Brendan and Danielle will meet to discuss this piece</p><p> Website payment – Eric will check the mail box for a bill</p><p> Communications - Need someone to write and distribute information o Newspapers, website, email blasts,…. o High School student???? o Need someone to answer NGS email account</p><p> Player Development o Need volunteers to help with clinics o Hockamock is all set o Spring inter-league needs someone for scheduling</p><p> Spring League Updates o Need to make instructional more exciting and interesting for the girls . Focus of the week: 15 minutes and then play a game o Minors – bring back practice groups o Need to decide playoff schedule ahead of time so umpires and fields can be booked</p><p>Future Meetings Scheduled:  12/3/12 at 8pm (Library – Lounge)</p>
