<p>Malinda (Hess) Martin, 91, passed away Wednesday morning at the home of her son, Frank, two miles west of Waterford.</p><p>She was born October 15, 1851, near Dayton, Ohio, and moved with her parents to Harrison Township, 6 miles east of here in the summer of 1852. She was united in marriage to George S. Martin, March 12, 1874, who preceded her in death October 27, 1927. Two sons also preceded her in death, Jeremiah, born Jan. 17, 1875 and died May 5, 1893, and Emanuel, born March 6, 1879 and died Feb. 21, 1880. She is survived by the son at whose home she passed away, and a daughter, Amanda (Mrs. Douglas Mast) 6 miles East of here; a brother, Eli of Nappanee; five half = brothers, Wilson and Chauncey of Goshen. Amza and Frank, of Elkhart, and Charles of Illinois; seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.</p><p>Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:30 at the home house and 10:00 o’clock at the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church of which she was a member.</p><p>Wakarusa Tribune Dec. 24, 1942</p>
