Central Division Report to House of Delegates

Central Division Report to House of Delegates April 9, 2017

Toronto is working hard for their show in April and are working on their music for International in July. A very busy chapter trying to do their best to make a good showing at both International and their show coming up on April 22. A good bunch of guys with two great leaders who show their expertise and knowledge of their hobby.

East York, under the leadership of a great director and under a real good musical and leadership team, are working toward a show in June singing with Scarborough Sweet Adelines and also performing in local events like Canada Day and local events when ever they can. Also, and not because of me singing with them, they are showing good signs of improvement in singing and are bringing in some new members for our great hobby.

Scarborough had the pleasure of installing Scarborough's new executive in the new year - a good bunch of men that are willing to take one step further to improve not only their singing but their numbers as well. They are taking that step to travel to London to compete in the chorus competition. They also have a new asst. director working with their currant director and are looking forward to many more good things through the coming year. Their show, at which I could not be in attendance, was well attended and very successful. They will be planning another show for the future and are looking forward for our support.

Etobicoke-Mississauga are still moving along inspiring new members and are having more faith in their director. When I can, I get out and help them by singing tenor which makes them sing well and they can hear the musical chords that should be heard rather than with only 3 parts as is sometimes the case. But they are having fun and to me that is what this hobby is all about.

My report from Central Division.

Respectfully submitted,

Gerry Selkirk Central Division Coordinator
