<p> Broomfield School Pastoral Support Officer</p><p>Post Title: Pastoral Support Officer Pay: Scale 5 point range 22-25 (Outer London) pro rata Hours per week: 40 (+ .5 hour lunch break) Weeks per year: 39 Daily Hours: 8.00 am – 4.30pm Reporting to: Head of Year</p><p>1. Purpose of Job</p><p> To work in the Achievement Centre on a daily basis.  To support the work of Interventions Manager in the overall day-to-day management and monitoring of students’ personal development and well-being across year groups.  To liaise with Heads of Year and tutors in implementing the key aspects of the school’s policies (Child Protection, Behaviour for Learning, Attendance and punctuality, Uniform, Sex and Relationships Education, Rewards and Inclusion).</p><p>To carry out other duties in accordance with the Behaviour for Learning Policy as directed by the Interventions Manage.</p><p>2. Duties</p><p> To support the Interventions Manager with monitoring student progress and develop coherent support for students placed in the AC i. One-to-one work ii. Group work for identified students iii. Carry out lesson observations of identified students and give feedback to Interventions Manager and Head of Year iv. Attend and contribute to review meetings with parents and outside agencies as appropriate v. Carry out external visits appropriate to role as directed by the Interventions manger  To support the Head of Year in the organisation of Parents’ Evenings, Academic Review Days and other after-school events as directed by the Interventions Manager.  To support the transition of students from year to year  To deputise for the Interventions Manager in their absence on a rotational basis, to ensure the smooth running of the Achievement Centre  To work with the Head of Year and tutors to implement the school’s reward systems.  To support the Interventions Manager, Head of Year and Year Team in managing the behaviour of students  To carry out administrative duties as directed by the Interventions Manger, such as inputting IRF’s, collating merits.  To be proactive in ensuring an initial response to any referral regarding student behaviour. This may involve liaison with parents, teachers, Head of Year or Senior Staff and making appropriate interventions.  To assist the Head of Year and liaise with the Admissions Officer for the safe and secure admission of new students to the Year Group.  To supervise students sent to referral base.  To support the development of the Year Team enrichment programme. This includes the students’ entitlement to educational visits, extra-curricular activities and assemblies.  To work with the Interventions Manager and the Head of Year in ensuring that students are safe and secure.  To work with the Interventions Manager the Head of Year in ensuring that students are able to access a healthy lifestyle in school.</p><p>These are the main responsibilities of the post. There may be other duties which are commensurate with the post.</p>
