Expressions of Interest (EOI)

Green Cooling Ideas Competition of the Green Cooling Initiative (GCI)

April 2015

Deadline for submission of the EOI: May 31, 2015 Green Cooling Initiative: Green Cooling Ideas Competition

The Green Cooling Initiative (GCI) is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit. GCI’s objective is to promote climate-friendly and energy-efficient cooling technologies in developing and emerging countries.

At present, the RAC sector causes 10-15% of all global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). The sector grows rapidly especially in developing and emerging countries, and will contribute to climate change even more in the future. The Green Cooling Initiative takes countermeasures to this development through promoting the use of green cooling technologies which operate on climate friendly, natural refrigerants and are energy efficient. With the Green Cooling Technology Partnership Contest, the GCI invites private partners to jointly implement technology partnerships enhancing the use of green cooling in developing and emerging countries.

Under the scope of this idea competition, GCI pledges contributions to selected green cooling projects worth at least EUR 25,000 and up to EUR 75,000 of the total investment volume. As a general rule, the contribution from GCI can not be more than 50% of the project costs, meaning that only projects with investment volume of at least EUR 50,000 can be granted support (EUR 25,000 from GCI and at least EUR 25,000 from the project partner). Please refer to the Call for Expressions of Interest for more information.

GCI invites eligible candidates to submit their Expression of Interest using this form until May 31, 2015.

General information

Green Cooling Intiative c/o Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Implementing organisation Dag-Hammarskjöld-Weg 1-5 65760 Eschborn

Internet:www.green-cooling-initiative.org Philipp Munzinger Your contact Tel. +49 (0)6196 79-3374 [email protected] Closing date May 31, 2015 Submit by e-mail to [email protected]

Please submit the filled entry form to the e-mail address mentioned above (to subject line: Expression of interest – Green Cooling Technology Partnership Contest).
