<p> SAC Meeting Minutes Wednesday January 11, 2017</p><p>The January SAC Meeting was called to order at 9:10 on January 11, 2017 in the Pine Ridge Media Center.</p><p>The members in attendance were Ms. J. Jones (Chair), Ms. Turbeville (Secretary), Ms. Hope (Principal), Mr. Majka, Mrs. Screen, Ms. Baran, Ms. Belizaire, Mrs. Brown, (teachers), Mrs. Thomas (Literacy Coach), Yves Moon (Business Partner)</p><p>1. Approve the meeting minutes from the previous meeting (December 6th) a. Vote confirmed minutes 2. Update on the Bond Vote a. Half of our supplies have arrived, the P.O. has been issued for the walkies, the only thing we are waiting for it the TV studio b. Call for questions- none were asked. c. We will be looking for volunteers to help set up the teacher’s lounge and we are looking for blue fabric and boarders to redo the boards and decorations 3. School Wide i-Ready Data a. The largest percentages of students using the program is 4th grade 2. FACE- Family and Community Engagement a. Ms. Belizaire is heading up the FACE b. New board in the front office that displays various community resources such as rental assistance, housing, etc. c. The goal of FACE is to help bring resources to families coming into the school 3. Future endeavors- a. We are going to be kicking up our intermural sports again a.i. We need new sporting equipment- we don’t have any soccer equipment a.ii. Mr. Majka contacted vendors and got an estimate of $1194.50 a.iii. Mr. Black motioned that it should be covered by the SAC committee- motion was supported by three members of the committee b. Ms. Belizaire brought up the idea of housing more activities in the school that will entertain and engage our community members c. Science Fair and Black History Month Activities d. Call for more ideas to bring families into the school e. Mrs. Thomas suggested Active Parenting and Ms. Belizaire volunteered to look into it and possibly host it at a library 4. Principal’s Message- a. We finished Swim Central and the kids had a ball. We had kids that weren’t swimming and know they are little fish. b. If you have something going on in your classroom, please take pictures of what the students are doing so we can let everyone know how wonderful our teachers and students are doing c. Ms. N Jones is heading up Black History Month- the theme is leadership, getting students to be leaders, not follower d. Mr. Murphy is heading up career day- let him know if you have someone who can come in e. We are still BAS testing though February f.
