I will be earning my MSW this August from the South River College School for Social Work, and I have extensive experience working with adolescents in a variety of settings. With my clinical skills, demonstrated commitment to serving at-risk youth in therapeutic school settings, and outdoor leadership training, I believe I would be a strong addition to Blue Ocean’s clinical team. </p><p>During my clinical field placement at the Terraroja Therapeutic Day School, I worked with a culturally diverse adolescent population providing individual and group therapy and developing and implementing individual treatment plans. This experience built on my prior background as a program and dorm supervisor at the Academy at Swift River, where I initiated an outdoor leadership program which helped at-risk teen boys improve their self-esteem and academic performance. </p><p>Having worked effectively with students in both day and boarding therapeutic school settings, I’m particularly attracted to Blue Ocean’s structured, safe, and nurturing residential environment and comprehensive approach to the therapeutic, academic, social, and physical needs of each student and family. Along with my clinical skills, I believe my training and experience as an environmental educator make me well-qualified to develop Blue Ocean’s new outdoor leadership program. </p><p>I look forward to discussing my interest in this position, and I will call shortly to see about arranging a meeting.
