<p> Irish Ice Hockey Association.</p><p>Participants Code of Conduct</p><p>I ______as a member of the ______(Print last name, first name) (Print Ice Hockey Club name)</p><p> hereby accept unreservedly that breaching the following guidelines will place me in contravention of the Code of Conduct and such actions will not be tolerated by the IIHA. </p><p>As a participant in the IIHA I will;</p><p>1. Be ethical, fair and honest in all my dealings with other people and the IIHA;</p><p>2. Treat all persons with respect and courtesy and have proper regard for their dignity, rights and obligations;</p><p>3. Always place the safety and welfare of children above other considerations; </p><p>4. Comply with IIHA Articles of Association, rules and policies including this member protection policy; </p><p>5. Operate within the rules and spirit of the sport;</p><p>6. Comply with all relevant government laws, particularly anti-discrimination and child protection laws;</p><p>7. Be responsible and accountable for my conduct.</p><p>As a participant in the IIHA I will not;</p><p>1. Discriminate based on race, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, politics, age or disability, and may not be conveyed verbally, written, by gesture or, by any electronic means;</p><p>2. Display unsporting behavior on ice, off ice, before, during or after IIHA sanctioned events; </p><p>I. Unsporting conduct may include, but is not limited to, poaching/tampering, spitting and abusive or profane language or gesture towards league officials, clubs, club officials, participants or spectators; </p><p>3. Fight, before, during or after IIHA sanctioned events; </p><p>4. Promote or engage in substance abuse;</p><p>I. Substance abuse includes alcohol and illegal drug use, before or during IIHA sanctioned events, and actions taken to conceal substance abuse.</p><p>5. I understand that failure to comply with the Participants Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary hearings, suspension, expulsion and/or a monetary fine by the IIHA Disciplinary Committee. </p><p>______, 20_____ Signed (Participant) Date</p><p>______, 20_____ Signed (Club Official) Date </p><p>______, 20_____ Signed (Parent or Guardian if under 18) Date </p><p>Definitions</p><p>“IIHA” refers to the Irish Ice Hockey Association which operates the IIHL.</p><p>“IIHA Executive” refers to the Director of Players Operations, General Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President and President, or other Executives added to the Board in the future.</p><p>IIHA sanctioned event” refers to a game, training session, or event where the approval of Irish Ice Hockey Association has been granted tacitly or otherwise.</p><p>“IIHL” refers to the Irish Ice Hockey League including the Irish Ice Hockey Recreational Division.</p><p>“Participant” refers to an individual who is a registered member of the Irish Ice Hockey Association. </p><p>“League Official” refers to a league executive, on-ice official or game day official working on behalf of, or, at an IIHA sanctioned event.</p><p>“Club Official” refers to a participant registered with a club or team in the IIHL and is not engaged in on-ice activities. </p><p>“Poaching/Tampering” refers to a club/team/participant directly or indirectly attempting to recruit a player away from their registered club during the hockey season without the prior consent of that player’s current club. This does not preclude a participant from requesting a transfer to another club in writing. </p><p>“Electronic means” refers to computer based information that may be sent via e-mail, phone text, posted on web forums or disseminated over an internet service provider.</p><p>Irish Ice Hockey Association, Sport H.Q., 13 Joyce Way, Parkwest Business Park, Dublin 12.
