If so, you might say here ‘in under 3 hours’. Or will you be doing this in fancy dress? If so, you can add here ‘dressed as a tiger’. If this is not the case, you could simply say when the event is taking place. </p><p>Your name hopes to raise over (£x) by taking part event name that XXXX.</p><p> XXXX - provide further detail about the event itself here, eg for RideLondon-Surrey you might say – that celebrates the legacy of the 2012 Olympic games and for the London Marathon you might say, that starts in Greenwich and ends at The Mall. </p><p>(Example quote 1) </p><p>Your name, age, from location says: “I decided to take on the event name for Alzheimer’s Society because XXXXX. It will be a challenge but I am hoping that by raising funds for the charity, vital services and key advice can be provided to support people with dementia, their families and carers.” </p><p> XXXXX - please tell us more about your reason for supporting us - are you are taking part in memory of a loved one perhaps, or in gratitude of some support a loved one have received from the charity? Otherwise, or additionally, you might want to refer to our key messages about dementia prevalence more generally, and say something like “I decided to take on the event name for Alzheimer’s Society because I know that dementia can be a very challenging condition and is one that affects 850,000 people in the UK.”</p><p>In the next paragraph, you can write bit more about yourself and the event. See examples below:</p><p> Your name will join a group of all ages and backgrounds on this incredibly tough challenge and will have to put in a lot of time for training. Your name has undergone a gruelling three month fitness regime which has involved him/her having to wake up in the early hours to fit in a 20 mile run before going to work.</p><p>(Example quote 2) Here you should include further quotes about taking part in the event. Remember this is your story, so it’s great if you can include as much information about it possible. You might want to include some personal anecdotes too. See examples below:</p><p> Name says: “I think the hardest part has been not being able to socialise as much as normal over the last few weeks to make sure I’m fully in shape for the run. I am very looking forward to celebrating at the finish line with a pint!” Name says: “When I’m cycling I will be thinking about my Grandma and all of the other thousands of people out there who are trying to come to terms with a dementia diagnosis.” </p><p>Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive at Alzheimer’s Society, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support of everyone who, like your name, is taking part in event today in support of Alzheimer’s Society. Dementia is the biggest health and social care challenge we currently face. It affects over 850,000 people in the UK and can have a devastating impact on everyone affected by it.
