All outdoor activities involve an element of risk. The following are some of the activities in this course that present an element of risk:</p><p>1) Strenuous activities, (team building activities, fires building, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, winter camping ) 2) Use of potentially dangerous tools (axes, saws, knives, fish hooks, power tools, etc.) 3) Potentially dangerous situations (not limited to: exposure in inclement weather, cross country skiing, winter camping, fire building, falls, an “act” of nature, equipment failure, heat related illness, etc.)</p><p>In an effort to make the course as safe as it can be the teacher will instruct the students concerning the rules of safe practice. It is vital that all students follow the teacher’s skill and safety instructions to decrease the possibility of injury.</p><p>Note: By signing this form you are giving permission for your student to participate in all course-related field trips. (You will not be receiving permission forms for individual field trip during the school day)</p><p>We recognize that there are inherent risks in these types of activities. We have read the information above concerning the risks of participating in Outdoor Adventures/Environmental Science. We understand and assume all risks associated with participating in this course.
