<p> 2016 Crean Lutheran Passing Tournament Rules  Games start at the top of the hour. Games are 40 minute running clock. 25 second play clock. No timeouts. Team with possession when time expires may finish the drive if it could affect the game. Initial possession determined by coin toss. Ball always starts on +40yd line Overtime: each team gets possession from the 25 yard line. Only 1 offensive coach is allowed in the offensive backfield. Defensive coaches must stay on sideline. Offense o 3 downs to make a first down (25 yd line, 10 yd line), then 4 downs inside the 10. NO running plays (including QB) QB has 3.59 seconds to release the ball or sack. Official will stop watch on the throw, and then look down at his watch to determine a sack. Sacks equal loss of down, restart ball on original line of scrimmage (LOS) 5 receivers are eligible; QB and Center make up 7 offensive players. At least 1 back must line up in the backfield on all plays, and must release outside the tackle box. 25 second to put ball in play (play clock) . If team exceeds 25 second play clock, loss of down</p><p>No blocking is permitted. Fumbles are dead at the spot of the fumble. Loss of down.  Scoring o Touchdowns are worth 6 points; the extra point is attempted from the 3 yard line, two point conversions from the 10 yard line. Interceptions count for 3 points</p><p>Defense o No more than 7 defenders allowed. 8th defender must take a knee prior to snap and cannot jam receivers. Jamming must occur within five yards of LOS and cannot include holding One hand touch shoulders or below to down receiver Penalties  Offense o Delay of Game – Loss of Down False Start, Illegal Motion, Illegal formation – 5 yards replay down Pass Interference – 10 yards replay down, or defense can decline Blocking – 10 yards from spot and loss of down Offensive Personal Foul – 15 yards from spot, loss of down, warn player.</p><p>Defense o Encroachment – 5 yards replay down Pass Interference, Holding – 10 yards, replay down Defensive Personal Foul – 15 yards from spot, automatic first down, warn player.</p><p>ABSOLUTELY NO taunting, excessive celebration or foul language will be tolerated by players or coaches. Failure to comply will result in player or coach being removed from the game. 2nd infraction will result in player or coach being ejected from the tournament.</p>
