Box 22596 Hilton Head Island, SC 29925</p><p>No Later Than March 17, 2017 Application Check List</p><p>Before sealing your package, please make sure all items below are included.</p><p> Completed Scholarship Application (Signed by Applicant & Parent/Guardian)  Typed Essay  Two Typed Letters of Recommendation (sealed)  Official High School Diploma Transcript (sealed) If any of the above listed information is not included in the package it will not be considered for an award.</p><p>Qualifications</p><p>This scholarship is for graduating high school African American female seniors from Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, May River and Ridgeland/Hardeeville High Schools. </p><p> Applicants must attend a 4 year accredited college, university, or post-secondary institution in pursuit of a degree within one year of high school graduation.  Applicants must have at least a 2.75 cumulative Grade Point Average on a 4.0 scale in order to qualify for a scholarship award.  Applicants are required to submit an Official High School Diploma transcript in a sealed envelope.  Applicants are required to submit two typed letters of recommendation in a sealed envelope.  Qualified applicants are required to participate in a panel interview. You will be notified by phone with the date and time of your interview.  Applicants are required to submit a typed essay that answers the following questions: 1) What are your academic and professional goals? 2) How do you plan to achieve those goals?</p><p>The essay is an important part of the selection process. Essay must be double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, 2 page maximum, one inch margin on all sides with your name typed in the upper right-hand corner of each page.</p><p>In reviewing the essays, the judges will consider the following criteria in selecting winners: - Creativity - Correct use of grammar and punctuation - Originality and quality of ideas presented - Overall appearance of the essay</p><p>Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
