The University of Florida Small Animal Hospital might be just what you are looking for! Sprawling over 100,000 square feet, the Small Animal Hospital is AAHA accredited and the Emergency and Critical Care Service is VECCS Level I certified. We offer 13 specialty services to the over 39,000 patients seen yearly and are seeking technicians who have a strong interest and passion for a particular specialty in veterinary medicine. The Small Animal Hospital is a proud advocate of those wanting to continue to grow personally and professionally in the veterinary field and even those considering a technician specialty (VTS). Technicians should be motivated individuals who possess the drive to succeed in a busy hospital and have an interest in working in an educational environment. Current services seeking technicians include: • Emergency & Critical Care • Clinical Pathology • Operating Room Services • Anesthesia & Pain Management • Diagnostic Imaging • Radiation Oncology Paid internship opportunities are also available in our Emergency & Critical Care and Anesthesia services. The program is designed to offer technicians the opportunity to increase their knowledge and gain experience in a specific discipline. Applications are due February 28th, 2017. Overall the Small Animal Hospital offers medical and surgical care for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic pets through a spectrum of cutting edge technologies. Some highlights for various services include telemetry monitoring systems, in-house blood donation services, hemodialysis machines, mechanical ventilation systems, state-of-the art areas including a specialized isolation area and a catheterization lab, MRI, CT, and digital radiology suites, and the capability to use various rehabilitative modalities (i.e. hyperbaric oxygen therapy, underwater treadmills, and acupuncture) and a LINAC (Linear Accelerator) machine.
