<p> Herkimer Housing Authority MID-TOWN APARTMENTS 315 North Prospect Street Herkimer, New York 13350</p><p>Phone: 315-866-2252 Fax: 315-866-3942</p><p>February 11, 2013</p><p>Dear Tenant:</p><p>The Board of Commissioners has approved a plan to help maintenance do their job when plowing the parking lots at all of our complexes. </p><p>Starting immediately, we will be implementing a penalty system for those who do not remove their cars when the lots are being plowed. The new system will be as follows:</p><p> If there is a snowstorm, OR we receive 3 or more inches of snow OR you see maintenance plowing, you must remove your car from the parking lot by 8:30 a.m. This applies to all 3 complexes, Mid-Town, Creekside Courts and Eastern Gardens.  Maintenance staff is not authorized to move cars for tenants. If you own a car, you are responsible for moving the car on your own. If you are unable to move the car, you must have a friend or relative move the car for you.  Failure to remove your car when maintenance is plowing the lot will result in the following: o First offense: A warning ticket will be issued o Second offense: A fine of $20.00 will be charged to the tenant’s account o Third offense: The car will be towed by an independent company at the owner’s expense</p><p>We regret having to impose this policy, but in order for maintenance to keep the parking lots free of snow and ice, it is crucial that all cars are removed at the time of the plowing. It isn’t fair for maintenance to have to get out of the truck to knock on doors, nor is it fair for the office staff that has to try to contact tenants to move cars.
