What's this? A control room?

[Philippe Giguet, Head of Toll Infrastructure APRR] You are in the security room of the Paris-Rhin-Rhône Autoroutes

Video transition [Ghislain Robert, Head of the Le Mans Resort Division] It’s still the Bugatti circuit. It looks just the same as before but it’s totally different ; we have totally redone the Bugatti circuit track.

[Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] The race director’s car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Video transition [Sylvain Moreira, Assistant Director of the Laboratory Department] We take asphalt core samples like this we insert gauges to test for deformations, then we use a helmet which lowers the temperature.

Video transition [Ghislain Robert, Head of the Le Mans Resort Division] It's a pretty wide perspective.

[Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] Yes very wide.

[Ghislain Robert, Head of the Le Mans Resort Division] Real close up on my teeth!

[Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] Or your nose! Don't worry, it's a pretty big one.

Video transition [Video footage] It starts with a footage of a car on the Bugatti circuit, then it goes to a site with the Roger Martin group

[Title] ACTION

[Voice over of an interviewee] So we had to respond to these requirements and get maximum grip for best results in terms of braking.

[Christophe Ribette, Technical Director at Roger Martin] The priority on site is safety! I suggest you put the helmet on.

Video transition [Video footage] Florian is with Christophe Ribette learning about a engine, then we see him with Christophe Mabille on the A139 highway section and it goes to XXX on another motorway.

[Title] POLYMERS OF COURSE

[Christophe Ribette, Technical Director at Roger Martin] In fact, polymer bitumens are what is used on the road surface that’s what gets the hardest treatment and it's this bitumen that needs to be strengthened.

Video transition [Christophe Mabille, Head of Motorway Infrastructure - Sanef Abertis Group] The surface layer is very important in terms of safety. That's the priority for customers. Therefore we've used bitumen-polymers on asphalt layers that are very light.

Video transition [Philippe Giguet, Head of Toll Infrastructure APRR] The polymers help to improve hold in the face of temperature variation.

[Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] In fact, polymers make the road more versatile. Absolutely.

Video transition [Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] Follow me. We’re on our way!

[Video footage] Florian is inviting us to following him, but when reaching the lobby doors they don’t open so that he just ran into them.

Video transition [Video footage] A sequence of all the testimony of how the Shell Caliphate Bitumen had been a key factors.

[Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] You have developed quite a few things with Shell lately.

[Christophe Mabille, Head of Motorway Infrastructure - Sanef Abertis Group] Absolutely. At the end of last year and early this year, we tried to revisit somewhat the bitumen range and especially to clarify it to make it accessible to all,

Video transition [Ghislain Robert, Head of the Le Mans Resort Division] Shell was able to provide us with a bitumen that corresponded exactly to our needs. They supply prototypes.

Video transition [Nicolas Cadeau, Head of Works / Luc Durand Group] And Shell Cariphalte highway bitumen.

[Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] Why this choice? Because... Will there be heavy traffic here?

[Nicolas Cadeau, Head of Works / Luc Durand Group] This parking lot, among other things, we are on a parking lot for HGVs, with 80 spaces

Video transition [Video footage] Florian is at Immergis center of operation, after he is at a toll on a motorway.

[Title] Some suspens [Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] In 20 years, road information will give us a full picture in fact?

[Vincent Lecamus, Immergis CEO] Particularly through what we’re going to see in a few years: with driverless vehicles,

Video transition [Philippe Giguet, Head of Toll Infrastructure APRR] This is the connected motorway, motorways will send information to vehicles, and vehicles will also send information.

Video transition [Video footage] A collection of all the ending sequence where all interviewee where asked to leave a note on the Shell Cariphalte roadbook.

[Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] We ask you to leave us a comment: It’s over to you

Video transition [Video footage] A collection of all the ending sequences where Florian had tried different engines, vehicles and had took a try at different jobs.

[Title] AND THRILLS AND SPILLS!...

[Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] I’m going to analyse some more road.

Video transition [Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] I’ve got many miles ahead.

Video transition [Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] I'm going to finish the roadway, we're going to put down the asphalt.

Video transition [Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] I'm going to help them, I'll man the toll barrier for a bit! Move forward!

Video transition [Florian Martin, journalist, On The Road Again] Now I'm going to enjoy myself, I'm going to do some automotive testing. And not just any old tests either! Come on! Home James!

[Background music plays] Uplifting music

[Animated sequence] End credit the Shell logo
