<p> KINDER 2 September 2014-2015</p><p>LANGUAGE ARTS</p><p>Listening and Speaking: The students will: Use present tense sentences to describe events. Recognize and produce vowels sounds. Answer wh-questions (what & where) about stories.</p><p>Initial reading The students will: Identify, match and write vowels relating them to specific words. Identify characters and main idea of stories. Order sequence of events from different stories.</p><p>Initial writing The students will: Identify, match and trace vowels and vocabulary words. Start tracing their name.</p><p>MATHEMATICS</p><p>The students will: Comprehend and identify concepts of up-down & same-equal. Identify, match and copy geometric shapes (circle and triangle). Identify, count and match numbers from 1-10. Learn about group concept.</p><p>SCIENCE</p><p>The students will: Comprehend kinds of weather and their appropriate wardrobe. Identify day and night activities on their own context. Comprehend animals and plants are sources of food for human beings.</p><p>SOCIAL STUDIES The students will: Learn about animals as a mean of transportation and community helpers that use them. Describe and compare characteristics of the place where they live. Identify different kinds of houses in their neighborhood. Learn about Mexican festivities (Niños Heroes (13), Mexican Independence (16), Monterrey Foundation (20) and International Day for the Peace (21). SOCIO-EMOTIONAL SKILLS:</p><p>The students will: Identify personal characteristics. Offer help. Respect others when playing. Starting to identify their emotions. Understand and practice classroom rules.</p><p>ESPAÑOL</p><p>Escucha y Expresión Oral Los estudiantes: Utilizarán oraciones en tiempo presente para describir eventos. Reconocerán y producirán el sonido de las vocales. Contestarán preguntas de qué y dónde de las historias.</p><p>Lectura Inicial Los estudiantes: Identificarán, unirán y trazarán las vocales y su vocabulario. Identificarán los personales e idea principal de un cuento. Ordenarán la secuencia de eventos de diferentes historias.</p><p>Escritura Inicial Los estudiantes: Identificarán, trazarán y relacionarán las vocales y su vocabulario. Empezarán a trazar su nombre. Dibujarán líneas de arriba-abajo e izquierda-derecha.</p><p>COMPUTER</p><p>The students will: Learn about: Speaker and Volume, Digital camera, and Good Habits. Work with: Thinking things 1: Flying Shapes (parts 1 and 2) Kid Pix Studio: Shape Collage. ART</p><p>The students will: Comprehend meaning from works of art, including own according to the elements of art. Apply artistic processes, skills, materials and tools to communicate meaning. Communicate and express through original works of art. Comprehend the role and development of the visual arts in the past and present cultures throughout the world. Use the vocabulary of the visual arts to express observations. Learn about Alexander Calder’s art. MUSIC</p><p>The students will: Comprehend words of music and the performance of musicians according to the elements of music, aesthetic, qualities and human responses. Compose and arrange music applying vocal and instrumental musical skills in performing a varied repertoire of music. Improvise melodies and accompaniments to express own feelings and ideas. Listen and describe music and other aural information, using to terminology of music.</p><p>DANCE</p><p>The students will: Respond through movement to opposites. Demonstrate movement skills & process sensory information using the elements of dance Name and play children’s dance games from countries around the world. Describe movements of dance using vocabulary such as: copying, mirroring, leading and following. Create movements that reflect a variety of daily tasks and activities.</p><p>GYM & SPORTS</p><p>The students will: Learn about health and security practices for themselves and others. Learn about how to take care of themselves to keep their well-being.</p>
