<p>Teaching notes</p><p>How to use this resource</p><p>This resource, The first dismissal, is designed to support the Digital Education Revolution – NSW (DER-NSW) program. The resources and tasks are aimed at supporting student use of the DER-NSW laptops in both online and offline classroom environments.</p><p>If you have difficulty viewing this resource on the DER-NSW laptop screens you can switch your web browser to full screen mode. With your web browser open, press F11 to switch between normal and full screen mode. For more detailed support on how to use the DER-NSW laptop software referred to in this resource please visit the TaLe Tools+ site. The purpose of this resource is for students to gain an understanding of the developments surrounding the dismissal of Jack Lang and to assess the significance of this event to Australia’s political development. </p><p>Explore In this section there is a PDF on Jack Lang with links to numerous websites on Jack Lang. This PDF comes from the larger resource Inside New South Wales Parliament. </p><p>Your tasks </p><p>The tasks for students include:</p><p>1. Create a digital story. Using Microsoft PowerPoint students create a digital story that outlines the main developments in the dismissal of Jack Lang. They are encouraged to use images, music, voice and text.</p><p>2. Create a role-play. In groups students create a role-play of the events leading up to the dismissal. This can be filmed using the webcam.</p><p>3. Contribute to a blog. Students are encouraged to contribute to a blog about the significance of the dismissal of Jack Lang to Australia’s political development.</p><p>You will have to set up a class blog before the students can start blogging.</p><p>A great place to set up a class blog is through Edublogs, http://edublogs.org/.
