<p> Kansas Longarm Quilters</p><p>General Meeting Minutes</p><p>February 16, 2013</p><p>The meeting was called to order by Linda Fiegel, KLQ President. </p><p>Announcements</p><p>New board members were announced:</p><p>Evelyn Gernaat, Programs Helen Thomas, Secretary Richard Crawford, Treasurer Kristie Patton, Membership Brenda Ramey, Communications Julie Crawford, Newsletter JoAnn Blackmore, Hospitality and Tricia Lehman, Member-at-Large. Wanda Pinkerton-Holley announced that she will be moving to Edmond, OK and is resigning from the board. Bev McCalla will be the new member-at-large.</p><p>Kristie reported that there have been 697 hits on our website since January 1.</p><p>Linda reminded us that we are guests of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, thanks to Dave Lehman. She pointed out a donation basket on the membership table and informed us that the donated monies go to hospice care needs.</p><p>Linda called for a motion from the membership to move the business meeting to the end of the meeting so our speaker could make her presentation first. Evelyn Gernaat so moved and Brenda Ramey seconded. Linda introduced our speaker, Jan Hutchison and her program “Entering Your Quilts in a National Show.”</p><p>The business portion of the meeting followed Jan’s presentation.</p><p>Old business: </p><p>MQS Show: Cheryl Nordstedt informed us of the volunteer needs for the MQS show and gave us the opportunity to sign up to help. Charity Quilts for the MQS show: Tricia needs the quilts that have been taken to quilt to be returned by the April meeting. The raffle tickets will sell for $1 each and six for $5.</p><p>Financials: Richard reported that up to today, the guild had $1,232.64. 24 people paid their memberships today.</p><p>Membership: Kristie reported that we have 38 current (i.e., paid) members. Last year we had 64 members.</p><p>New Business</p><p>Linda asked for volunteers to work on a guild mission statement No one volunteered or offered feedback.</p><p>Linda asked for volunteers to work on board job descriptions. No one volunteered or offered feedback.</p><p>Linda asked for lunch suggestions, and no one had any.</p><p>Lunch this day will be at Playa Azul in Old Town.</p><p>The meeting was adjourned.</p><p>Helen Thomas KLQ Secretary April 9, 2013</p>
