<p> Sierra Nevada Chapter PGA Board Meeting Minutes April 5, 2007</p><p>In attendance: Martin Chuck, Bruce Towle, Gus Jones, Greg Enholm, Nate Kelley, Pete Smith, Steve Rydel, and Jeremy Budge. Meeting called to order by Martin Chuck at 2:05 pm. President’s Report – Martin Chuck – Motion to increase Jeremy Budges’ salary from $500 a month to $750 a month. Motion was seconded and approved by the Board. Martin discussed the positive comments he received regarding the Annual Meeting. Thank you to Kelly Manos and his staff for hosting the event. Financial Report – The Annual Meeting generated $238.00. Hidden Valley C.C. was paid $1412 for meeting costs and food & beverage. $400.00 was paid out in prize money. All of the Chapter bills are paid. The Chapter has a current balance of $4716.73. Education Report – Gus Jones - The Henry Griffitts seminar has 10 current sign ups. Jeremy Budge will send a reminder email for additional enrollment. </p><p>Gus Jones is currently working on prospective education seminars with Dr. Cook and / or Fred Shoemaker.</p><p>The Board approved hosting a TPP training seminar prior to the June MSR Points deadline. Steve Rydel will conduct the training.</p><p>Tournament Schedule – Nate Kelley – Congratulations to Mike Paul – 2007 Match Play Champion. Nate reported that he was a little disappointed how the Match Play Championship was conducted i.e. no pin sheets, a last minute hole closure, lack of Professional representation, etc. The Board will work more closely with courses to avoid future issues.</p><p>Bruce Towle discussed possibly adding a loser’s bracket to future Match Play Championships. Professionals that lose their first match could participate in an optional skins game in the afternoon. The discussion was table for a future meeting.</p><p>Jeremy Budge will update and add a current points list to the website. </p><p>Scholarships – The Board reviewed the existing scholarship criteria. Bruce Towle will revise the current copy for the next Board meeting. Old Business – Martin Chuck discussed the importance of participating in the PGA Performance Track (KPI) and will send out an email blast to encourage the Chapter members to participate in this program.</p><p>Chapter awards for 2007. Nomination forms will go out in September. Criteria for the new awards will be added to the agenda and discussed in the next meeting. Jeremy Budge will contact the Section for reference. New Business - Steve Rydel introduced adding a list of current apprentices to the Chapter website to better increase communication between apprentices and mentors. </p><p>Martin Chuck introduced a potential sponsor program for Chapter events; possibly a “season long” sponsorship. Gus Jones would like to see the Chapter put a little pressure on some of the key golf course vendors to commit to sponsoring Chapter events. The discussion was tabled for a later meeting.</p><p>Steve Rydel discussed his recent trip to Seattle and how the Western Washington Chapter conducts their Pro Am series. They have three tiers of Pro Am entry fees - $40, $60, and $80 with waiting lists for each of their events. Jeremy Budge will contact the WWCPGA for additional information.</p><p>The Tournament Co-Chairs will make a preliminary 2008 Pro Am schedule. The preliminary schedule will be presented for the Board to review at the September meeting.</p><p>Next Meeting – The next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th, 4:00 pm at ArrowCreek C.C. Jeremy Budge will notify the membership and email an agenda at least one week prior to the May 29th meeting.</p><p>Minutes respectfully submitted by Jeremy Budge</p>
