<p> Poem involving audience participation Narrator:</p><p>Hands, God gave us hands</p><p>Hands to create</p><p>Hands to love</p><p>Hands to give</p><p>Hands to protect.</p><p>But we have misused these hands:</p><p>Hands made to create now destroy</p><p>Hands made to love now hate</p><p>Hands made to give now take</p><p>Hands made to protect now attack.</p><p>Jesus came and held out his hands to a dying world.</p><p>But we took these hands and nailed them to a cross.</p><p>And said ‘Stay there God!’ (together)</p><p>But he didn’t!</p><p>Three days later he rose again</p><p>And today he holds out his hands to you.</p><p>Will you listen to him or will you ignore him?</p><p>Will you accept him or will you reject him?</p><p>The answer is in your hands.</p><p>The congregation to be briefed beforehand and encouraged to participate with actions in tandem with narrator. For example ‘Hands to love’ people can shape their arms and hands as if embracing someone without actually doing so! </p><p>David Palmer 14 Sept 06</p>
