Pawtuckaway

A Terrific Troop Trip

At the Pawtuckaway Campout we did many activities such as swimming, fishing, and hiking.

On Saturday, the older scouts ventured out on a ten-mile hike joined by one new scout. The younger scouts did a five-mile hike for their second class advancement requirement, and even got a tour of a fire tower.

After a long day hiking, we had a campfire on one of the local islands. A Boy Scout campout would not be complete without some songs and, of course, skits.

On Sunday morning, our chaplain aide, led a thoughtful prayer service that took place on a nearby island. After the prayer service the group jumped into cars and went to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for a relaxing boat ride around the Islands of Shoals. The weather was perfect for a trip on the ocean. When we returned to the campground, we had pizza and played a kickball game against the adult leaders. Sunday was another fun day on our trip.

Finally, on Monday morning it was time to break camp and go home. Boy, What a terrific campout! We can’t wait until next year for another great troop trip!

Written by Dan Historian Troop 1728
