On any 25 given day, John and his wife, Susan; their daughters, Sandra and 26 Sarah; and John and Susan’s soninlaw, Joe, smilingly serve 27 customers; and 28 29 Whereas, the Bear E Patch Café is noted for its downhome 30 atmosphere and homestyle cooking, as with its breakfasts, which 31 are served all day. Notably, its pumpkin pancakes have been voted 32 “best in Charleston.” Its menu, however, also extends to lunch and 33 dinner offerings, many of which reflect its coastal location; and 34 35 Whereas, the members of the Hawes family believe the success of 36 the Bear E Patch Café may be attributed to their commitment to 37 put God first; and 38 39 Whereas, cognizant of the company’s dedication to quality and its 40 service as a community gathering spot with an openhearted 41 welcome, the Senate takes pleasure in commending the Bear E 42 Patch Café. Now, therefore,</p><p>[826] 2 1 2 Be it resolved by the Senate: 3 4 That the members of the South Carolina Senate by this resolution, 5 recognize the Bear E Patch Café of Charleston and commend its 6 owners and staff for their service to the community. 7 8 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 9 the Bear E Patch Café. 10 XX 11</p><p>[826] 3</p>
