<p> Behavior Lesson Plan Template AUDITORIUM COOL TOOL</p><p>UNIVERSAL EXPECTATION: Be safe, respectful, responsible, and productive during Auditorium performances</p><p>NAME OF SKILL/SETTING: Students will demonstrate knowledge of auditorium behavior by analyzing a role play and giving feedback on auditorium procedures.</p><p>PURPOSE OF THE LESSON/WHY IT IS IMPORTANT 1. Proper auditorium behavior is important so students can listen to an enjoy performances. Performance groups will also be able to perform without interruptions and disruptions.</p><p>TEACHING EXAMPLES 1. Teacher will ask for 6 volunteers to do a role play for the class. 2. Using the matrix, the teacher will lead the class in a discussion analyzing the role play when finished. After role play, the teacher instructs the class to look at the matrix. The class discusses what they saw in the role play that is on the matrix that represents appropriate auditorium procedures. The class discusses what they saw in the role play that represents inappropriate auditorium procedures. 3. Teacher will discuss auditorium matrix.</p><p>STUDENT ACTIVITIES/ROLE PLAYS 1. Students will perform role play for class (see attached page) 2. Students will look at matrix after role play and analyze what procedural steps were proper, and which were not correct.</p><p>FOLLOW UP/REINFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES 1. Review matrix before auditorium performances with students. ROLE PLAY: Auditorium Procedures</p><p>Ask for 6 volunteers within the class. Each student should have their own copy of the role play.</p><p>Roles: Teacher, Principal, and 4 students (Student 1, 2, 3 and 4)</p><p>Teacher: (Talking to 4 students) “Students, we’re getting ready to go into the auditorium and listen to the drum line. When we enter the auditorium, please walk in a single file line, and stay together. Keep your hands and feet to yourself, and I will guide us to our seats. Line up behind me now.”</p><p>(Students line up behind the teacher. They follow teacher as she begins walking across the classroom)</p><p>Student 1: (Follows behind the teacher, in a single file line, keeping hands and feet to self.)</p><p>Student 2: (Walks behind student 1, but pushes student 1 in the back) and is laughing out loud, telling student 1 to “Hurry Up!”</p><p>Student 3: (Walks further behind the group, not keeping up)</p><p>Student 4: (Engages student 3 in horseplay)</p><p>(Teacher directs students into a row of chairs and gives this instruction to students) “Now look for the signal. When the principal raises their hand, it is time for quiet.”</p><p>Principal: (Walks in front of chairs and raises hand. When students are quiet she begins talking) “We have a very special performance for you today. Please remember to be a respectful, responsible, safe and productive audience participant. Here is our Fritsche drum line!”</p><p>(Students, Teacher, and Principal clap.) </p><p>THE END </p>
