Secondly, we’re here to help. There are oodles of delicious restaurants dotted around the city, many of which offer that wonderful, budget-friendly option of BYOB. Grabbing a bottle of vino beforehand means you can afford to splash out on even more delicious grub, plus it’s easy to keep a note of how much you’ve had, should you want to be nice and fresh the next day for sightseeing! Here are five of our favourite BYOB restaurants…

Vintage Kitchen (LP) 7 Poolbeg Street, Dublin 2 A cosy spot in the heart of the city, Vintage Kitchen offers a range of tasty dishes sourced from selected Irish markets and shops. As such, the menu chops and changes regularly as owners source various local ingredients. What’s more, you’ll find a range of pretty, local arts and crafts produce for sale at Vintage Kitchen, should you like to take home a souvenir. Oh, and if you fancy bringing along an LP, the team will be happy to play it for you. What’s not to love?

Seagrass 30 South Richmond Street, Dublin 2 Located in the trendy Portobello area of Dublin city, Seagrass serve up tasty cuisine at affordable prices. On their eclectic menu you’ll find fresh fish from Howth, organic fruits, cured meats from artisan suppliers, and spices from the nearby Asian market. What’s more, once your party orders a minimum of two courses per person, there’s no corkage fee on the BYOB policy. Ch-ching!

Rigby’s A relaxed and effortlessly cool New York-style deli serving breakfasts, sandwiches and salads by day, Rigby’s on Leeson Street offers an ever- changing array of tasty specials in the evening. Run by charismatic chef James Rigby, who whips up a selection of different dishes each night depending on what ingredients he has in stock (making for a very exciting mealtime!), food at Rigby’s is both delicious and reasonably-priced. Again, there’s no corkage fee if you choose to bring your own vino, making for a very bargainous evening indeed!

Musashi 15 Capel Street, Dublin 1 Sushi fans should look no further than Musashi, a delicious Japanese restaurant located on the foodies’ haven that is Capel Street. Offering tasty noodle, rice and sushi dishes, Musashi are obviously doing something right; they’ve recently opened two sister restaurants in the city – Zakura on Wexford Street and Musashi IFSC on Mayor Street. If you choose to bring your own bottle, there’s a corkage fee of €6 – otherwise there’s a wide range of beers on offer, including that Japansese speciality, Sake!

Doghouse Blues Further afield but easily accessible by northbound Dart, you’ll find the Doghouse Blues Tea Room in the gorgeous seaside village of Howth. With tasty options like pizza (cooked up in their own wood-fired oven), chicken wings and fresh, barbequed seafood served in very comfortable surroundings (there’s couches and even a bed, people!) Doghouse Blues is the perfect spot to dine before exploring this amazing part of the city. For BYOB, there’s a corkage charge of €5 – but you’ll find a wine list and selection of fruit, matte and chai teas there too.

Bistro Spice On the other side of the city - just minutes from Dún Laoghaire Dart station - you’ll find another very tasty option; Bistro Spice. This Indian restaurant serves up an array of curries, tikkas and kormas – from mild to as spicy as you can handle! There’s a selection of wines available at the restaurant, or should you choose to bring your own, there’s no corkage fee charged. Afterwards, why not take a stroll down to the picturesque, maritime village of Dún Laoghaire. From its famous pier, you’ll be treated to an amazing view of Dublin bay.

Social copy:

Facebook Visiting Dublin on a budget?
