<p>The Polk County Board of Commissioners is in the process of creating a fire and life safety advisory group to be called the Fire and Rescue Advisory Committee (FRAC). The mission of this new committee will be to act as a liaison body between the individual fire and rescue departments and the County Board of Commissioners. Their purpose will be to serve the fire and life safety interest of the citizens of Polk County. They will review and make recommendations for fire and rescue service funding and capital expenditures, and submit the annual budget recommendations for fire and rescue services to the Commissioners.</p><p>The Fire and Rescue Advisory Committee shall be comprised of seven voting members appointed by the Polk County Board of Commissioners. - Three from candidates submitted by the Polk County Fire Chief’s Association. - Three at large members, preferably professionals in the fields of banking, accounting, financial planning, insurance, or commercial construction. - One member shall be appointed from candidates submitted by the other six FRAC members. The Polk County Fire Marshal will also serve as an ex-officio, non-voting, member.</p><p>Anyone interested in serving as an at large member on FRAC, should submit a Volunteer Board application and a professional resume to Angé High, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners.
