<p> SHOREHAM PORT : JOB DESCRIPTION LAST UPDATED: FEBRUARY 2016</p><p>Job Title: Department : Location: Marine Assistant Marine Adurni / Shoreham Harbour Radio. </p><p>Reports to: Assistant Harbour Master – Marine works Direct / Indirect Reports / Scale Indicators: Or Tug Master. 0 / 0 / N/A</p><p>Principal purpose of job (role summary): To operate the work boats, carry out maintenance and general marine duties as directed around the port.</p><p>Main duties, tasks and responsibilities: </p><p> To carry out Patrols within the Harbour.  To direct the Marine Assistants in their duties as set by the Assistant Harbour Master – Marine works Or Tug Master on a daily basis.  To carry out regular checks on equipment around the port such as life buoys, fire extinguishers, tide boards, hydrant pits and watering equipment.  To remove debris from the canal and report any pollution.  To clean the area around the fuel tank.  To clean the survey vessel Capella.  To clean and fuel the port truck on a weekly basis.  To check the waste skips.  To lubricate all main gate padlocks.  To check and maintain the oil spill equipment and trailer.  To keep areas as directed clear of rubbish.  To assist with any towing operations.  To assist as crew aboard the Adurni and other port craft when required.  To assist with the small vessel census.  To carry out maintenance duties on board and associated with the Port craft.  To assist with and carry out any maintenance duties around the port as directed.  All Marine duties / tasks as directed by the Harbour Master.</p><p>Key skills:  STCW95 Regs  ML5 Medical  Sea Survival  First aid  Personal Safety  Fire fighting  Yacht master offshore – power (with commercial endorsement)  Deck crane  Driving licence  Forklift  Slinging  Towage training  VHF (GMDSS)</p><p>Agreed and signed by:</p><p>Post holder: ......
