Mid-Day Meals Supervisor</p><p>Job Title: Mid-Day Meals Supervisor</p><p>Salary: KS2 Hours/week: 5 hours per week (Term time only) </p><p>Job Purpose: The Mid-Day Meals Supervisor will:  To supervise the pupils during the mealtime period to ensure their wellbeing and maintain their safety.  To encourage outside and help children to socialise and play appropriately.</p><p>Duties: The Mid-Day Meals Supervisor will:  To be responsible for supervision of children in the dining hall, cloakrooms, playground, play equipment and classrooms during wet lunchtime. You will also be required to undertake first aid duties as a trained first aider. </p><p> Ensure a calm and positive environment is maintained for all children.</p><p> To encourage children to eat with courtesy and good manners.</p><p> To attend to spills and breakages.</p><p> To be a positive role model for children by leading by example.</p><p> To interact and play with children, building a positive and caring relationship with the children.</p><p> To encourage independence and responsibility in children.</p><p> To move around the outside areas to ensure all children remain visible.</p><p> To encourage play and help the children socialize and play appropriately.</p><p> Undertake a visual check of the playground, playing field and play equipment for any health and safety issues.</p><p> Reinforce the Behaviour Policy.</p><p>Experience, Qualifications & Skills:  You will not need any qualifications. Recent school leavers will have evidence of basic educational achievements or qualifications.</p><p>Page 1 of 2 Job Description: Mid-Meals Supervisor</p><p> A first aid qualification would be an advantage.  Previous experience of working with children will be an advantage.  An ability to communicate with pupils during the mid-day breaks e.g. to encourage a healthy meal selection, oversee play activities.  Ability to recognise and deal with emergency situations.  May need to be able to handle a small sum of cash.  May require the post holder to be responsible for the safe use of equipment.</p><p>Page 2 of 2</p>
