<p> Armstrong Atlantic State University Writing Committee Minutes Date: Friday, March 26, 2010 1:00-2:15 PM</p><p>Attendance: Wendy Wolfe, Chairperson; Judy Dubos, Library; Carole Massey, Nursing; Karen Hollinger, LLP; Debi Reese, LLP and Writing Center; Bill Baird, Physics; Kemi Elufiede, Writing Center; Joe ?, Writing Center.</p><p>Business: Writing Showcase Five papers have been submitted for the writing showcase event: Early Childhood Education Psychology Special Education History Art, Music and Theater</p><p>In an attempt to recruit more papers, the deadline will be extended to 4/9/10. Committee members will contact individuals within their departments to encourage increased participation.</p><p>The Writing Showcase event will be held on April 23, 2010, 12 noon in University Hall 156. Writing honorees will be introduced by the professor who nominated them with a short presentation about why the paper represents good writing Debi Reese will contact Kat Arntzen about taking pictures during the event to post on the Writing Committee Web Site which will be up and running within one week. Bill Baird will prepare the certificates. Debi Reese will provide certificate supplies, Committee members signed up to bring refreshments including paper products, drinks, cookies, brownies, fruit and cheese, crackers.</p><p>Big Read Common Read Program (Margaret Brocklyn Nease) will be a collaborative project with Writing Committee Writing Showcase event. April 23, 1-1:30 Author of chosen book will speak on why this text is congruent with goals of AASU. If possible, signed copies of the chosen text will be presented to all recipients of the good writing awards.</p><p>Submitted, Carole M. Massey, Recorder</p>
