Secy.</p><p>12-15-1912 Dear Emma- It looks as if I cannot get up to see you all. I want you all to come xmas. Come & stay with us as long as you can. We all want to see you & the children. Stella has been here & now you must come. We will plenty of sausage to keep you from starving when the turkey is gone. We killed our two large hogs. They did not turn out lard as the two last year, but we made twice more sausage. I have so many meetings now that I cannot get away for long.</p><p>2 I will in a few days have my water works finished. Ma has her room finished ready to begin supplying it. She will have to buy considerable, such as bed stead, matters, stove, blinds &c. When a new house is built, the cost is not all of it. Any way, we will have more room when company comes.</p><p>Was in Baton Rouge last Monday, remained two nights & parts of two days. Oswald & Clevie entertained me. They are nice situated & I believe happy.</p><p>3 Ma has been anxious to hear from you. She expects everyone to write her daily, but she is a poor quarterly Review, I know there is no mother of a family that writes so often as you, letters that are always entertaining.</p><p>Come right along. You & the children We will meet you at the depot. Bring your trunk, we will hauling it out so that it will of no expense. Hoping all well We are yours, Father & Mother </p>
