<p> FLYNN TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING (Minutes) March 15, 2016</p><p>7:00 P.M. – Regular Board Meeting – At the Senior Center. Pledge of Allegiance</p><p>Meeting called to order by Supervisor John Trowbridge. Members Present: Grant Burgess, Bob Conely, Dick McPhail, Bruce Potter and John Trowbridge. Deputy: Gene Burgess, Tracy Holbrook, Katherine Wilson. Guest Present: Jim Ruby – County Commissioner, Thomas Lupo – Assessor, Brent Banks & Dennis Wilkins.</p><p>Jim Ruby – County Commissioner – See Attached Thomas Lupo – Closed out BOR on 3-15-2016. Seen 13 people.</p><p>Old Business Master Plan: Needs to be completed.</p><p>Quick Books – Meet at the Senior Center on 3-29-2016 at 9:00 a.m. for training.</p><p>Filing Deadline for Township office: Petitions need to be returned to Clerk by April 19, 2016.</p><p>Motion by B. Potter seconded by D. McPhail to the wages for Gene Burgess during the transition. Approved.</p><p>Motion by B. Potter seconded by G. Burgess to have Gene Burgess stay on the Fire Dept. board representing Flynn Township. Pending approval from the Brown City Fire Dept. Approved.</p><p>Motion by D. McPhail seconded by G. Burgess to approve the March bills of $19,484.03 plus Planning Commission members in attendance for March meeting + Cam Keesler for BOR. Approved.</p><p>Motion by B. Potter seconded by D. McPhail to accept the Treasurer Balance Sheet. Approved.</p><p>Motion by D. McPhail seconded by G. Burgess to approve the Road Millage, to be placed on the ballot as follows: FLYNN TOWNSHIP ROAD MAINTENANCE MILLAGE Shall the expired previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Flynn Township, of 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value), reduced to .9987 mills by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at the original voted 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for four (4) years, 2016 through 2019 inclusive, for general operating purposes, raising an estimated $29,657.00 in the first year the millage is levied. Yes or No. Approved.</p><p>Sanilac County Health Dept. Report – FYI – Report of 3-4-16, Township needed to supply food handling gloves, temperature gauge and test strips to check the rinse water. Clerk will get and report back to the Health Dept.</p><p>Motion by G. Burgess seconded by D. McPhail to send a letter to Rob Falls, County Road Commission, requesting that Peck road from the village of Peck to Maple Valley road become an “all season” road. Approved.</p><p>Flynn Township Website – Check around and get quotes & information to build a site and report back next month. </p><p>Motion by B. Conely seconded by D. McPhail to buy up to $100 worth of trees for the Cemetery. Approved.</p><p>Motion by B. Conely seconded by B. Potter to raise the Assessor’s wage from $10/parcel to $12/parcel. Approved.</p><p>Gene Burgess gave an update on the B.C. Fire Dept.</p><p>Motion by D. McPhail seconded by B. Potter to have Dennis Wilkins clean and polish the floors. Approved.</p><p>Discuss the “Neighborhood Signs” at next month’s meeting.</p><p>Motion by D. McPhail seconded by G. Burgess to buy a gate for the Baldwin road entrance to the Nature Center.
