<p> Suing Gun Manufacturers</p><p>I received an email today from Democrat Representative Elizabeth Esty regarding the supposed exemption from lawsuits enjoyed by firearms manufacturers or, as she phrases it, ‘ unparalleled liability protection for gun manufacturers’.</p><p>This is of course is completely false. Gun makers can and are being sued just like the crib, car, toy and drug manufacturers that she uses as examples. They are all susceptible to lawsuits for defects in their products. Remington has been fighting litigation regarding defective triggers and is on the cusp of facing a costly judgement.</p><p>But the progressive politicians want the ability to sue gun manufacturers for producing a product with no defect. It would be akin to suing Ford by a person hit by a Taurus while crossing the street.</p><p>I realize the elite in DC believe that misleading the public on issues like this is inconsequential as accomplishing or advancing their agenda is paramount and worthy of deceit. They believe we are incapable of taking care of ourselves when all it’s really about is their thirst for more power and control.</p>
