<p>Statewide Chamber Music Competition, May 4, 2013 Angela Rowland and Jaclyn Summers, Co-Chairs</p><p>To celebrate the centennial anniversary of the MTAC San Diego Branch, the Board of Directors voted to support this inaugural event to promote chamber music by sponsoring the Statewide Chamber Music Competition open to non-MTAC members. The inspiration for this event stemmed from the outstanding ensemble performances at the VOCE Competition and the student recital presented for branch members at the Centennial Celebration in May 2012. An informal Advisory Committee was canvassed regarding the competition guidelines, including several members from the MTAC, local university music faculties, and professional musicians. The purpose of the competition is to encourage teachers to create more performance opportunities for musicians and to build on the strong foundation of community outreach through free public concerts.</p><p>Congratulations to all Finalists and Winners of the 2013 Statewide Chamber Music Competition listed in alphabetical order below. Everyone received a Certificate as a Statewide Finalist.
