GKN Aerospace is a major supplier of integrated composite structures, offers one of the most comprehensive capabilities in high performance metallics processing and is the world leading supplier of cockpit transparencies and passenger cabin windows.</p><p>Bakgrund till examensarbetet/Background of thesis project</p><p>GKN Aerospace have extensive mechanical testing programmes for material properties. For the purpose of making the data available to engineers and analysis tools GKN Aerospace have a materials database which historically contained only evaluated data. A recent update to a more modern tool, Granta MI, allows us to expand the scope to, among other things, test data. Abilities to export and import data between different tables in the database allows for far-reaching automatisation of test data to curve allowables evaluation. </p><p>Uppdragsbeskrivning/Assignment description</p><p>The thesis work will focus on three areas Creating a template/process for setting up test data to allowables evaluation within the material database.
