<p>FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT, ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS INTERNSHIPS</p><p>Deadline to Register with University Career Services: September 12, 2003</p><p>For both full-time recruiting and accounting and other business internships, undergraduate students should register by September 12 with University Career Services and take advantages of the programs and services offered . Students should attend an orientation session to complete the registration process and learn important information about signing up for interviews. Dates and locations of orientation sessions are listed on the University Career Services Web site, www.gsu.edu/career, (CTRL + click to follow link) also accessed from the GSU Homepage www.gsu.edu Current Students, Services. </p><p>University Career Services has two web based recruiting systems, Recruiting.com and MonsterTrak.com. Registered students can access job listings through these systems and also make their resumes available for referral to interested employers. In order to be eligible for consideration for positions for which employers will be hiring, students must be registered no later than September 12, 2003. By registering with the Career offices, students will be eligible for on-campus recruiting for Fall 2003, for Winter/Spring 2004 and Summer 2004 internships, as well as for resume referrals. </p><p>MBA candidates and graduate accounting students should contact the MBA Career Services Office at (404) 651-3780; see Web site www.robinson.gsu.edu/career/ also linked to from the Robinson College of Business home page linked to from the GSU homepage www.gsu.edu. Students should review the site’s calendar of events, including dates of mandatory orientation workshops required for new registrants.</p><p>For full-time accounting internships for which employers will be interviewing this Fall, it is generally recommended that students have completed ACCT 4010, and possibly ACCT 4110, although the requirements may vary by employer. The timing and length of internships may also vary; these factors should be discussed during the interview. </p><p>Students may also be able to earn course credits for internships; the professor for the Accounting Field Study course is Dr. Siva Nathan [email protected], (404) 651-4455. The expected requirement for this course, ACCT 4391, at the undergraduate level is completion of ACCT 4110; and at the graduate level for ACCT 8391 is MBA/MPA status. However all students desiring Accounting Field Study credit should have their enrollment authorized by Dr. Nathan.</p><p>All business students should attend Business Career EXPO on Thursday, September 11 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Student Center (professional/interviewing dress, bring resumes), and Pre-EXPO Workshop, Saturday, September 6, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Student Center Sinclaire Suite or Alpharetta Rm. 231. Dates for the required orientation sessions as well as recommended upcoming events are listed on both Career Web sites. All students interested in accounting and finance internships, as well as full-time employment, are encouraged to attend “Meet the Firms Night” at the Student Center on Wednesday, September 17 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by the the School of Accountancy accounting clubs, Beta Alpha Psi, National Association of Black Accountants, and Tau Alpha Chi. Students are requested to wear professional/ interviewing dress and bring resumes; no pre-registration is required.
