<p> Minutes from Regular Council Meeting January 19th, 2016 PRESENT: Mayor Leier, Councillors, Parent, Klein, Forbes, Baker, Currie, and Chief Administrative Officer Samantha Gillies and Assistant Ruth Solie</p><p>001-16 A quorum being present, Mayor Leier called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.</p><p>002-16 Councillor Currie that the agenda be accepted as presented with the following additions:  Ditch Stakes  Vacant Lots  Audit Letter  Library Agreement Carried</p><p>003-16 Councillor Klein that correspondence be accepted as presented and filed. Carried</p><p>Foreman Update</p><p>Materials for building new shelves in the shop has been purchased. Al will begin building the shelves. With warmer weather coming, he will begin to put up the new street signs. He will be registering for the Applicator’s license course this week.</p><p>Delegation</p><p>David Waugh (North Atlantic Potash) and Kent Carter (Rio Tinto) attended the meeting to provide an update on the potash development near Sedley. A partnership between North Atlantic Potash and Rio Tinto has been established called the CanPacific Potash Project. Owners have made the decision to move forward with a pre-feasibility study (PFS). A drill rig will take samples for the PFS and further studies and decisions will need to be made based on the results. Beginning spring 2016 an environment impact study will be completed.</p><p>While there has been development in the project, it will be a few years before mining will begin.</p><p>004-16 Councillor Parent that the minutes from the regular council meeting held December 22nd, 2015 are accepted as amended. Carried</p><p>004-16 Councillor Currie that Accounts Payable for the year ended December 31st, 2015 totaling $22,777.14 are approved and bills are paid. Carried</p><p>005-16 Councillor Forbes that January 19th, 2016 Accounts Payable totaling $22,283.91 are approved and bills are paid. Carried</p><p>006-16 Councillor Currie that the Statement of Financial Activities for the month ended December 31st, 2015 and the bank reconciliation for the month of November, 2015 and December 2015 are accepted and filed. Carried</p><p>A BYLAW FOR THE VILLAGE OF SEDLEY FOR COUNCIL MEETING PROCEDURES</p><p>007-16 Councillor Klein that Bylaw No. 2015-12 known as the Sedley Council Procedures Bylaw read a second time. Carried</p><p>008-16 Councillor Baker that Bylaw No. 2015-12 is read a third time and adopted. Carried</p><p>Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out. Minutes from Regular Council Meeting January 19th, 2016 </p><p>009-16 Councillor Baker that Mandy Treble be approved as a member of the local Library Board. Carried</p><p>010-16 Councillor Currie that the price on the vacant lots be reduced to $29,900. Carried</p><p>011-16 The next council meeting will be held on February 29th, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Village Office.</p><p>011-16 Councillor Forbes that the meeting be adjourned at 9:40 PM.
