<p> THE CAMALIER DISPATCH</p><p>FEB. 2011</p><p>Compatriots,</p><p>The Camalier Dispatch wants to welcome you to the 32nd year of the Captain Vincent Camalier Camp 1359 Sons of Confederate Veterans. Last year was one of our busiest ever. This year looks to be just as full. We are stronger than ever and the Dispatch wants to remind us that we are here to ensure that the true history of the South is presented to future generations.</p><p>January 16, 2011, Commander Chris McCall, Larry Messick, Monie Harper and Nick Taylor represented the Camalier camp at the Lee-Jackson birthday ceremony held at the Lee-Jackson monument in Baltimore Md. This event is sponsored each year by the Harry Gilmore Camp 1388. </p><p>January 21, 2011. The Camalier Camp gathered at the Garvey Senior Center in Leonardtown Md. To swear in our Camp Officers for 2011 and to discuss our upcoming agenda for 2011 which will be of a historical nature to promote the Sesquicentennial of the WBTS. Trips are being planned to the Museum of the Confederacy, Cold Harbor and Sharpsburg Battlefields. A moment of silence was held in remembrance of Gen. Robert E. Lee and Gen. Stonewall Jackson</p><p>2011 Camalier Officers:</p><p>Commander- Chris McCall</p><p>Lt. Commander- Larry Messick</p><p>Adjutant- Tommy Unkle Treasurer- Nick Taylor</p><p>Chaplin- Lenny Thompson</p><p>Quarter Master- Ed Thompson</p><p>Historian- J.B. Couch</p><p>Communications Officer- Rob Long</p><p>January 22, 2011, Commander McCall, Larry Messick, Nick Taylor and Rob Long attended the memorial service for the 204th birthday of Gen. Robert E. Lee held at the U.S. Capitol Building in D.C. The event is held every year through the caring work of the UDC. January 29, 2011, Commander Chris McCall, Lt. Commander Larry Messick and Communications Officer Rob Long attended the Md. Division Officers meeting at the Broadneck Library in Annapolis Md. Minutes have since been distributed to camp members. This meeting is open to all SCV members who wish to attend. </p><p>February 11, 2011, Rob Long graciously accepted a handmade mortar from the collection of Doug Delozier. Denise Delozier, the wife of our compatriot Doug, donated this mortar to the camp and reminded everyone to keep Doug in your prayers as he has been severely affected from Alzheimer’s. </p>
